EL CAJON (11-26-15) — East County has three teams in the 7 p.m. Friday (Nov. 27) San Diego Section CIF semifinals this year.
Steele Canyon has reached the semifinals three times and a victory at El Camino would vault the Cougars into the first Division I championship game in school history.
Meanwhile, Helix defeated Cathedral Catholic 37-7 during the regular season and anything close to a repeat performance will send the Highlanders into the Open Division title game.
Barring an upset against Mt. Carmel on Friday (Nov. 27), Valhalla will reach the Division II championship round against the winner of the Otay Ranch-Rancho Bernardo game. The Norsemen lost their season opener to Otay Ranch and would love a chance for revenge.
