SAN DIEGO (12-4-15) — Grossmont College alum IAN SEAU, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end at Nevada, has been named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team defense.
Seau finished the season for the Wolf Pack with 94 tackles and 17 sacks for Nevada 6-6.
— University of San Diego quarterback ANTHONY LAWRENCE has been selected the Pioneer League Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.
Lawrence, a Grossmont High alum, completed 188 of 295 passes for 2292 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also rushed for one score.
— Dixie State of St. George, Utah, has offered football scholarships to Grossmont College wide receiver SERGIO BAILEY and West Hills High double-threat TAJ BROOMFIELD.
Bailey caught 39 passes for 534 yards and 5 touchdowns as a sophomore at Grossmont College. Broomfield also caught 39 passes for 545 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also rushed for 494 yards and 3 touchdowns on 44 carries for the Wolf Pack (5-6).
